The "E-Check in Craft SME"
The aim of this project "E-Check in Craft SME" - was to develop a standardised, easy-to-use energy audit which is specifically tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) active in the craft sector. The purpose of this Energy Check is to swiftly identify the substantial and easily realisable energy saving potentials within each SME that is checked. Please view the general Brochure
The Energy Check was carried out by specially trained experts - craftsmen themselves. See the training Concept here, and example A and example B. Each participating SME received a set of recommended measures which was practical and needs-orientated, and therefore was most likely be implemented. Please view the brochure for SMEs.
The Energy Check was developed for five crafts (carpenters, bakers, bricklayers/glazers/painters, food producers and butchers) in five languages (Bulgarian, English, German, Greek and Spanish). Please view the brochure for the Echeckers
The E-Check partners have created a special calculation tool based on Microsoft Excel, which allows to quickly identify, analyse and evaluate the energy consumption, energy costs and key performance indicators for these craft sectors. Here you can find a demo-version of the Tool. (Flash-Version, 0.3 MB | PDF-Version , 1.6 MB). The key pieces of information you will require in order to complete a quick check are the energy consumption, the key information about your production (flour use for bakers etc), the size in area and no of employees in the organisation. These details will allow the quick check tool generate the key performance indicators (KPI's) that will tell you how efficent your business is versus others.
Also Find examples of e-check tools Fruit processor, Baker, dairy. Also please find actual reports with the specific company and personal details removed Report A and Report B.
The general concept of the marketing of the tool can be viewed here, but there are no plans to actively market this product currently. Please contact us at the Tipperary Energy Agency if you wish to use the tool.
There is no accredited Energy efficiency courses in Ireland at the moment for craft workers. There are masters in energy management, and some 1 - 3 day specific coursesin energy efficiency, but no short FETAC level courses. The Tipperary Institute in association with the Tipperary Energy Agency are assessing the needs and market for this type of course at the moment.
